Young Adult Book Group Discussion with Masjid Muhammad

Saturday, January 16, 2021 3 Sh'vat 5781

7:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Hill Havurah’s Tikkun Olam Committee and Anti-Racism Task Force will host two virtual book groups— one for teens and one for adults—over the MLK Jr. Day weekend. We are proud to offer the congregation an opportunity to learn with scholar and Havurah member Keiana Mayfield, whose research on anti-racism training is advancing the way our society talks about race by examining how it’s discussed within families. Masjid Muhammad members will be joining us as well.

  • Young Adult Book Group (ages 12 and up) on Saturday, January 16, at 7:30 pm, to discuss Stamped: Racism, Antiracism, and You by Jason Reynolds and Ibram X. Kendi. Parents and caregivers are welcome to join for this discussion, but not required. Facilitated by Keiana Mayfield. To register for this book discussion group, click HERE.

Please be assured that you're welcome to join us regardless of how much reading you're able to do beforehand.

We encourage those that are able to purchase books to do so through East City Bookshop. Both books are also available in multiple formats through the D.C. Library

If you have any questions, or need financial support to obtain a copy of the book, please email anti-racism@hillhavurah.org
