Day-Long Shabbat Retreat

9:00 AM - 8:30 PMJoin Rabbi Hannah and other members of the Hill Havurah community for a day of Jewish learning, conversation, creativity and relaxation, all surrounded by nature. We'll spend the day in Brookland's beautiful Franciscan Monastery, and will eventually make our way to the Edgewood Community Farm for dinner, drinks, and havdalah.
Adults and teens are welcome!
Tentative Agenda:
Gather at Reformation Church - 212 E Capitol St NE for coffee and a light nosh at 9:00am
Depart Reformation as a group (on a school bus!) at 9:30am
Arrive at Franciscan Monastery - 1400 Quincy Street NE - 9:45am
Programming 10:00am -12:00pm
Lunch 12:00pm-12:45pm
Programming 1:00pm -4:30pm
Depart Monastery as a group at 4:45pm
Arrive at Edgewood Community Farm - 2304 2nd St. NE at 5:00pm
Programming - 5:00pm - 6:30pm
Dinner - 6:30pm - 7:15pm
Havdalah and Closing - 7:15pm-7:45pm
Depart on bus back to Reformation - 8:00pm
Goodnight, laila tov! - 8:30pm
Sliding scale cost cost: $25-$200 (includes transportation from/to Reformation and in between sites, programming, breakfast, lunch, and dinner).
While we believe the cost of what is included will be around $100, contribute what you feel able – a contribution at the higher end will support others’ ability to attend.
*Shabbat Camp Day for kids: Hill Havurah is offering a full day of childcare at Reformation Church, featuring a variety of activities for children. The cost is $54 for members and $72 for non-members. Parents are asked to provide a bagged lunch, while dinner will be included in the program.
