7:30 PM - 8:30 PMOn March 1 at 7:30 pm on Zoom, two staff members from the Capital Jewish Museum will lead a virtual walking tour of an historic Jewish neighborhood in downtown Washington, DC. You will learn the story of the neighborhood, and watch it change with time as we move from the Civil War to the Civil Rights Movement to the current day.
This virtual tour will lead you into the historic heart of Jewish life, visiting four former synagogues in the 7th Street neighborhood, which was once a hub of Jewish commercial and religious life in the nation’s capital. We’ll examine cross cultural connections and learn about how many communities lived together in one neighborhood that was always changing.
The tour will end with a sneak peek of the new Capital Jewish Museum.
