All Day210 Chesapeake Ave., SEGrab Your Tools and Celebrate a Special Father’s Day On Sunday, June 17 members of the Hill Havurah will work for the second year with YACHAD to help restore a home near Capitol Hill. It’s our opportunity to come together as a community and help preserve affordable housing in a nearby neighborhood. Depending on your skill level and interest you may be painting, patching walls, carpentering, or fixing a leaky valve.
Yachad’s mission is to bring communities together by preserving affordable homes and revitalizing neighborhoods throughout the District of Columbia and the greater DC metropolitan area.
Let’s be part of that effort. Our goal is to assemble 10 - 12 HH volunteers per shift. We’ll have two shifts: The morning cohort runs from 9:30 AM – 1:00 PM The afternoon team from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM. If you're interested in volunteering for both, that is, of course, more than fine :)
On June 17th HH volunteers will descend on Ms. Delaney’s home at 210 Chesapeake Ave., SE and make much-needed repairs and upgrades on her family home. Please contact Sig Cohen at smceagle@aol.com to reserve your place on one of the two ten-person teams that will work from either9:00 AM to 12:30 PM or from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.
Lunch and beverages will be provided.
See our Crowd Rise site so you can financially contribute as well to this project.
