CLARKSTON -- A Screening and Q&A with the Filmmakers of An Inspiring New Documentary

Wednesday, July 1, 2020 9 Tammuz 5780

7:30 PM - 8:30 PM

Award-winning filmmaker Erin Bernhardt and Din Blankenship, friends of Hill Havurah member Justin Sosne, are working to bring more connection, hope, and encouragement into all of our lives during this COVID-19 time. They recognize that, as we move through and beyond the COVID-19 crisis, we will need to lean on one another in unprecedented ways. CLARKSTON, their film, and its characters have so much to show us about resilience, compassion, and hope.

CLARKSTON: Mother of Exiles (working title) is the story of a Muslim refugee and a former Klansman whose only commonality is being the target of blame in a polarized America. Set to the backdrop of the most diverse square mile in America -- Clarkston, Georgia --  the film uncovers what is possible when we leave the security of our tribes, and what is at stake for our country if we don’t. Be sure to check out the trailer!

We will be watching around 12 minutes of a few clips of the film, which in its entirety is still in post-production but hoping to premiere later this year. Erin and Din, the Director/Producers, will then answer questions.
