Hill Havurah is proud to honor Marcia and David Hoexter with this year’s Ner Tamid Award in recognition of their extraordinary dedication, leadership, and love for our community. Sixteen years ago, Marcia and David moved to Capitol Hill and immediately threw themselves into the life of the Havurah. Since then, their impact—both individually and together—has been profound. David’s liturgical leadership has enriched our spiritual life from the bimah, whether chanting Torah, mentoring new readers, caring lovingly for our sacred scroll, or helping guide services well before we welcomed Rabbi Hannah. His teaching and quiet stewardship have helped pass our traditions from generation to generation. Marcia’s vision, creativity, and tireless attention to detail have transformed our galas, salons, and fundraising efforts, strengthening many of the programs and experiences that sustain our community. Together, they embody warmth, hospitality, and authentic Yiddishkeit, sharing their home, their joy, and their generosity with Hill Havurah time and again.
