Hill Havurah Virtual Community Seder

Sunday, March 28, 2021 15 Nisan 5781

5:45 PM - 7:15 PM
Hill Havurah’s Community Seder will once again be virtual this year (via Zoom), using our own Hill Havurah Haggadah for a meaningful intergenerational experience. Havurah members who register for the seder by March 18th can request hard copies of the Haggadah (and will be able to pick them up in front of Reformation from 4:30-5:30 pm on March 25th or 10:30-11:30 am on March 26th). And if you'd like an assigned part in the seder, register and let us know by March 7th, and we'll follow up with you.

If all you have at the seder is our Haggadah (in hard copy or digital form) and a heart ready for liberation, that's just fine. But if you’re collecting your own supplies, here's a suggested list:
  • Seder plate with zeroa (shankbone or dogbone or beet), maror (horseradish or lettuce), karpas (parsely), beitzah (egg), charoset (apple/nut/wine mix, or something else that’s sweet and reminiscent of mortar), small bowl of saltwater, orange/clementine.
  • A pair of candles (and something to light with).
  • A cup for wine/grape juice for each member of the household.
  • A cup for Elijah (with wine/grape juice) and another cup for Miriam (with water).
  • Three pieces of matzah (with cloth to cover them and wrap the afikoman matzah in).
  • Prize for the afikoman (to give to a household member or yourself -- you deserve it!).
  • Pillow for your chair if it helps you recline.
  • Something yummy and unleavened for dinner -- dinner will come after the official end time of the seder, though if people want to keep talking on Zoom as they dine, they’re welcome to do so!

If you'd like to join us for the seder, please register here.
