Tzedakah Opportunity -- Annual School Supplies Drive

Every year around this time, Hill Havurah and the Tzedek/Tikkun Olam Committee supports Everyone Home DC's backpack and school supplies drive. Given the changes to the upcoming school year, Everyone Home DC is shifting this year’s model to collect $50 gift cards -- as well as monetary donations to purchase the cards -- to distribute to rising scholars in the families they work with.

If you are able to contribute to Everyone Home’s Back to School Drive, please visit our donation page. The page also includes more information about the drive and other ways to help. If you have any questions, please email Sarah Erdreich, co-chair, Tzedek/Tikkun Olam Committee. Thank you.

Hill Havurah Response to COVID-19

Even though we can’t currently gather physically, Hill Havurah remains a warm, inclusive Jewish community in the Capitol Hill area and beyond. As we look forward to the day that we can safely come together once again, we are committed to serving the needs of our community and serving as a resource for those looking for both assistance and ways to help those in the Havurah community, our neighborhood, and our city. We’ve found that even while each one of us is experiencing varying degrees of uncertainty, distress, and even trauma, each one of us has something to offer, and those offerings keep us connected and strong.

For the latest information about spiritual, financial, logistical, and social resources we are offering, as well as resources and service opportunities around the city, you can click HERE.
