Here's Just Some of What We Do:
All events are free and open to all, unless otherwise noted.


Kabbalat Shabbat/Potluck Dinner

Every third Friday evening of the month at 7 pm.  We gather informally in the Activity Room at 801 North Carolina Ave SE for a lay-led Sabbath service featuring song, prayer, community and spirit.  This is followed by a potluck dinner featuring ... um... whatever you bring.  No high treif, please.  :-) 

Tot Shabbat/Family Service
Every second Saturday
morning of the month at 10 am in the Activity Room at 801 North Carolina Ave SE.  (PLEASE CHECK OUR CALENDAR IN THE EVENT THE DATE CHANGES!   This is a joyous, raucous gathering of tots and families to celebrate Shabbat with song, dance, a Torah Parade, story time and blessing of grape juice and challah. 

High Holidays on the Hill
Offered yearly and open to all, although a voluntary donation is requested.  Services are lay-led, egalitarian, welcoming, participatory and spiritual.  Limited child supervision is available

Hill Havurah Community Seder
Offered yearly.  Priority reservations for paid members, with a limited number of spaces for others.  The Seder features a fully-catered Kosher sit down dinner, a complete Seder using modern, custom Hagaddahs, afikomen gifts for the kids, participation, singing and great food.

Life Cycle Events
Weddings, B'nai Mitzvah, Bris, Baby Naming, even Funerals.  Our lay-leaders can either conduct them or refer as appropriate.

Yavneh Educational Program
Our after school Hebrew school meets on Tuesdays and covers Kindergarden through 6th grade.

B'nai Mitzvah Training
Yup, we can arrange this, too.  Our Yavneh teachers provide B'nai Mitzvah training and we can help arrange your ceremony.  Hill Havurah families receive a discount when booking a simcha at the Historic Synagogue at 6th and I. 

Havdalah 'n Noshes  
Quarterly Saturday evening in members' homes on a rotating basis, with specific locations announced as they are volunteered.  Havdalah is a lovely, BRIEF service bidding farewell to the Sabbath and welcoming the new week with braided candle, wine, sweet spices, song and community.

Holidays 
Lots of fun holidays!  Purim!  Hanukkah!  Simchat Torah!  Sukkot!  Come join us.

In the Works :
Havurah Co-op Preschool on the Hill - starting Fall, 2010 for two and three year olds.  Meets two or three mornings weekly on the Hill. 

Rosh Chodesh Womens Group
Ring in the New Moon in sisterhood and spirit with Hill Havurah and Bet Mishpacha.
