Here's What We Do:
All events are free and open to all, unless otherwise noted.
|
Kabbalat Shabbat/Potluck Dinner is a recurring event every third Friday evening of the month at 6:45 pm. We gather informally in the Activity Room of Christ Our Shepherd Church at 801 North Carolina Ave SE for a lay-led Sabbath service featuring song, prayer, community and spirit. This is followed by a potluck dinner featuring ... um... whatever you bring. No high treif, please. :-)
Tot Shabbat/Family Service is a recurring event every second Saturday morning of the month at 9:45 am in the Activity Room at 801 North Carolina Ave SE. This is a joyous, raucus gathering of tots and families to celebrate Shabbat with song, dance, a Torah Parade, story time and blessing of grape juice and challah.
Havdalah 'n Noshes is a recurring quarterly event on Saturday evening in members' homes on a rotating basis, with specific locations announced as they are volunteered. Havdalah is a lovely, BRIEF service bidding farewell to the Sabbath and welcoming the new week with braided candle, wine, sweet spices, song and community. |
